Well, finishers at least! On Saturday both Stocky and I competed in the London Triathlon (the largest in the world apparently), competing in the sprint distance – 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run. We have been training for just over 10 weeks and felt ready for it. And we were both happy with our times – [...] There are a number of things on my London “to do” list and I checked one of them off yesterday. Me and my friend Tina decided to queue for tickets, and enjoy the whole Wimbledon experience. Every day they make about 5000-6000 [...] Yesterday we headed out of the hustle and bustle of London and to the quiet and quaintness of Rye. Yesterday Stocky and our landlord tackled the courtyard, which had quite a covering of moss and crap on it. Before: After: Stocky hard at work: I helped a bit, but my *very important* job was to man the water connection at the neighbours two up! This mainly involved lying on the grass in the sun, hearing Stocky and Lindsay [...] Although it may seem we are a bit extravagent with our money, we do watch what we spend pretty carefully. Well I do anyway – I can’t help it with the upbrining I had! We have a list of things we would like to buy, but it often stays as a list and doesn’t [...] You get to watch the sun slowly come over the back garden and brighten up the flowers. You get to do two loads of washing and have it all dried in the lovely spring sunshine. You get to work with unclean hair and dressed in old jeans and jumpers. You can eat freshly cooked lamb balls with houmous [...] but in our garden yesterday there was a real feeling of spring! When opening the curtains this morning I was expecting to see a bit of snow, because the media had been telling us it was coming. But I didn’t expect to see this! It caused absolute chaos in London! Our tube line was down and all the buses were out of action this morning so Stocky and [...] Well we have a bit of catching up to do – but there is no hurry (besides being asked when the site will be updated by both mothers!), so the details of our last week or so will come when we are good and ready! But fair enough to say it has been a good start [...] |
